Privacy Policy

At Inglés Hotelero ("the Company", "we", "our") we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it and what rights you have as its owner.

It applies to all services offered by Inglés Hotelero, including our website (ingleshotelero.com), the training platform, the messaging channels and any related communication. Hotels in the United States and Canada are served by hotelenglishtraining.com, which has its own policy.

1. Data controller

The controller of your personal data is Diego Lujan Studio LLC, a company formed in Texas, United States, trading as Inglés Hotelero; contact: hola@ingleshotelero.com.

2. Data we collect

We collect the following information depending on the context of the interaction:

2.1 Data you provide directly

  • Contact form: first and last name, job title, work email, WhatsApp number (optional), property or organization name, city, team size, positions of interest and any additional comments.
  • Employee enrollment: name, CEFR level, position, and the employee's phone number (for the planned WhatsApp add-on).
  • Tests and exercises: written answers, voice recordings and the CEFR scores generated while using the platform.

2.2 Data collected automatically

  • IP address, browser type, operating system and pages visited (through web analytics tools).
  • Session data and technical cookies necessary for the site to work.

3. Purposes

We use your data to:

  • Process demo requests and follow up commercially.
  • Deliver the English training service and issue CEFR records.
  • Generate progress reports for the contracting hotel's HR team.
  • Send service communications (updates, drill reminders, inactivity alerts).
  • Improve the platform based on anonymized usage behavior.
  • Comply with legal obligations or respond to requests from competent authorities.

We do not use your data for third-party advertising and we do not sell it to any company.

4. Legal basis

Processing rests on:

  • Consent: by completing the contact form or enrolling on the platform you give your express consent.
  • Performance of a contract: to deliver the contracted services.
  • Legitimate interest: for statistical analysis and platform improvement, always anonymized.
  • Legal obligation: where Mexican law requires it.

5. Retention

We keep your data while an active contractual relationship exists and for up to 5 years after it ends, or for the period required by applicable law. Individual employee data is deleted at the express request of the contracting hotel or of the data subject. Voice recordings from placement exams are deleted automatically after 180 days and recordings from daily practice after 30 days.

6. Sharing

Your data may be shared only with:

  • Infrastructure providers: cloud hosting, payment processors and messaging platforms (WhatsApp Business API through Twilio), plus speech-to-text and AI scoring providers. All operate under equivalent security standards.
  • The contracting hotel or company: employee progress reports are accessible to the HR lead of the relevant property.
  • Authorities: when required by law or court order.

We do not transfer data to countries outside Mexico or the United States without adequate safeguards.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), role-based access control, periodic audits and backups. No system is infallible; in the event of a security breach we will notify affected parties within the period the law establishes.

8. ARCO rights

Under Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP) and its regulations, you have the right to:

  • Access: know what personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Cancellation: request deletion of your data when it is no longer necessary.
  • Opposition: object to the processing of your data for specific purposes.

To exercise your rights, send a request to hola@ingleshotelero.com with your full name, a description of the right you wish to exercise and a copy of official identification. We will respond within a maximum of 20 business days. Users in the EU/EEA and the United Kingdom have the equivalent GDPR rights, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

9. Cookies

Our site uses strictly necessary technical cookies (session, language preference) and anonymized analytics cookies to measure traffic. You may configure your browser to reject cookies, although some site functions may be affected.

10. Changes to this policy

We reserve the right to update this policy at any time. Material changes will be notified by email to registered users at least 15 days in advance. The current version is always available at ingleshotelero.com/privacidad (Spanish) and ingleshotelero.com/en/privacy (English).
